Casper Martial Arts Instructors Mark Bates, Laura Kearns and Sharon Mooney, Trish Bradach, Jason, Christopher, Autumn and Janae Mercado participated in the Healing Hearts 5K/color run on Sat. June 22, 2013.
This was in honor of Natalie Miller and the Self Help Center. Enjoy the pictures: More than 700 runners met at the Events Center for this morning's Healing Hearts 5K/Color Run.
The 3.1 mile route took the runners aroundsurrounding streets. For most, the run meant more than just a 5k. All proceeds of the event are going to benefit the Casper Self Help Center and the Natalie Miller Trust Fund
Event Directors, Samantha Rinkin and Crystal Dillard say the initial monetary goal for the event was $10,000, and by the Thursday before the event, they had already collected $12,000. Organizers say there will most definitely be another run in Natalie's honor, next year.
Runners say they look forward to participating in the Color Run in the years to come, and that the mission is something they will also continue to support. Runners from all over the U.S. took part in the event. |
